Puppies are one of the most adorable as well as cute creatures on the planet. They’re small, cuddly, and have cuteness on their face. They’re also notorious for being messy, so house training is essential for owning a puppy.

The excellent news is house training a puppy is not as difficult as it may seem. If you have a little bit of patience and consistency, you can have your puppy house trained in just a few days.

Before going for any dog housebreaking products, here are a few tips to get you started:

1. Choose a designated potty area.

The first thing you’ll need is to choose a designated potty area for your puppy. This can be an area in the yard or even a small area inside your home.

Wherever you choose, make sure it’s a place that’s easily accessible for your puppy. They should be able to get to it without going through a door or climbing over anything because it might not be a good idea while they need to go for potty.

2. Take your puppy to the potty area often.

Once you’ve chosen a potty area, it’s essential to take your puppy to it often. This will help puppies get into the habit of using it as their go-to spot when they need to relieve themselves.

A good rule for your puppy is to take them to the potty area every hour, and you have to take them in the morning, after naps, and before bed, and after that, they will be used to it.

3. Reward your puppy for going potty in the right spot.

Whenever your puppy goes potty in their designated area, give them lots of praise and a small treat. This will reinforce the behavior and help them understand that they’re doing something good.

They will feel happy and enjoy doing it every day when they need to go for potty.

4. Don’t punish your puppy for accidents.

If your puppy does potty in your house mistakenly, it’s important not to punish them. This may confuse them only and make them scared to go potty in front of you. So have some patience and don’t punish them. Try to make them understand.

Simply clean up the mess and continue to take them to their designated potty area often.

5. You have to be patient.

Last but not least, it’s important to be patient when house training your puppy. They’re still learning, and it will take some time for them to get the hang of things. People are also the same. If you are thinking about exercise every morning, it will be tough for you, and you will make mistakes, so same for the dogs and puppies.

They will also make some mistakes. After that, they will learn. If you’re consistent with your training and rewards, they’ll catch on in no time.
